Picturas Chiquitas - Images of Tucson’s History
Distinguished watercolor artists participate in plein aire painting sessions in the Tucson downtown and barrio areas.  The results of their work are displayed and for sale during the month of March.  Framed art as well as matted pieces are available.  Selected art work is available as prints.  These images are perfect for the home and office.  If you live in the historic areas, it is worth a visit to see if your home was chosen and interpreted on canvas.

Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild (SAWG) Reception 2 PM - 4 PM

Mariachi Las Aguilitas, under the direction of Jaime Valenzuela, perform from 2:30 to 3:30 pm

La Pilita is proud to host the fourth annual SAWG show which showcases watercolor artists from southern Arizona whose themes include historic homes and places of Tucson. Original paintings and prints will be available for sale. Come and support these fine artists.

This year's featured artist is Ruth Tone, a 33 year resident of Tucson whose paintings include many of our older barrio homes. Says Ruth, "The plus side has always been when an owner comes out to watch me paint and to tell me the history of the adobes and the generations of families that have lived in the homes." Ruth has been the recipient of 55 awards and has shown her works throughout the US.
